Frequently Asked Question

Google chrome needs to be updated and it won't let me.
Last Updated 3 years ago

This is solved easily by updating Google trhough Software Updater rather than inside Google Chrome itself. The steps are as follows:

Step 1.) Close out Chrome completely.
Step 2.) Click the Waffle icon on the bottom left of your screen.
Step 3.) At the top in the search bar, type "Software Updater", and click on the Software Updater symbol (Note: NOT to be confused with "Software & Updates" - this is a different program)
Step 4.) When Software Updater launches, it will check for new software packages and once it's done it will ask you to [Install Now] for all the updates.
Step 5.) Click Install Now and let the process finish, you may need to restart when it's completed.
Step 6.) Open Chrome, it should now be updated to the newest version, if it is not then restart or run software updater again.
